How gas delivery works
It's straightforward: you call, you share your exact location, and a technician brings enough fuel to get you to the nearest station. No walking the expressway, no leaving your car unattended, no flagging down strangers. In the Chicago area we're usually there in 20–30 minutes.
What to do while you wait
- Coast to safety if you feel the engine starving — ease off the gas and steer for the shoulder or an exit while you still have momentum.
- Hazards on, and stay in the car, especially on a highway.
- Pin your location — nearest exit, mile marker, or a Google Maps pin.
Restarting after you're out of gas
Add at least a couple of gallons — a small splash often isn't enough for the pump to pick up. Then cycle the key to "on" (without cranking) two or three times to let the fuel pump prime, and start it. If it drained the battery while it sat, we can also give it a jump start right there.
Avoiding a repeat
